² At the Lord’s command Moses ·recorded [wrote down] the places they went, and these are the places they went.

³ On the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover [Ex. 12:1–30], the ·Israelites [^Lsons/^Tchildren of Israel] left Rameses and marched out ·boldly [^Lwith a high hand] in front of all the Egyptians [Ex. 12:31–42]. ⁴ The Egyptians were burying their firstborn sons, whom the Lord had ·killed [^Lstruck]; the Lord ·showed that the gods of Egypt were false [or even executed judgment against their gods; Ex. 12:12].
